UPDATE- JUNE 2018 - PLEASE READ BELOW.
Dear Eastwood Students,
I'm sure that many of you have heard that I will not be returning to school next year. I want you all to know that I have enjoyed knowing you and being your music teacher. You are not just my students, but my friends, and I really mean that. I taught you about music, butterflies, the planets, etc. and you taught me all kinds of things too! I will really miss seeing your smiling faces. I can't think of any other place to work where I would get to see so many cute faces all day long! I am leaving so that I can have more time to spend with my parents and my children, who as you know, live far away. On the last day of school, I wasn't sure if I would be leaving or not. I found it WAY too hard to say, "Good-bye" to you, because you really mean a lot to me. So, I apologize for not letting you know. I enjoyed the students who I just met this year and I enjoyed watching others grow through their years of elementary school and well beyond. As you know, many of your parents were also my students. I have enjoyed watching them grow up, choose interesting careers and have families. I hope that I will see you sometime, maybe at Kroger, a restaurant or somewhere else! I know that I will be missing you, I already do! Take care and have a great summer!
Love, Mrs. Slater
